Choose emergency sharing and accepted alerts
- Invite accepted friends as safety contacts. Each recipient independently selects SOS, missed check-in, low battery and area-exit alerts, location access and audible alarms. Turning on alerts alone is insufficient: select their types. Decline or revoke at any time. Blocking or removing friendship immediately stops access. Reacceptance does not restore earlier alert receipts.
- Each automatic condition starts off. Choose Minutes, Hours or Days for both the check-in interval and session duration. Switching units converts the value; fractional hours and days are allowed in whole-minute increments. Both timers range from five minutes to one day. Choose your battery threshold or area center/radius, save, then start a session. End session clears location and cancels pending conditions. I am OK resets the check-in deadline and cancels its pending missed-check-in alert. Automatic alerts have a one-minute cancellation window; scheduled server checks can add delay. SOS sends immediately to current designated friends who accepted SOS. Available-in-app does not mean seen or acknowledged. No emergency-service dispatcher is contacted.
- Battery and area checks require device monitoring and an internet connection. Android Safety monitoring is an explicitly started foreground service with a persistent Stop control, not an automatic boot service. iPhone/browser monitoring works only while the page remains open; browser battery detection may be unavailable. Area detection requires two accurate outside readings ten seconds apart. Location is available only during an active session to accepted location contacts and only while fresh; inactive readings clear after five minutes. Server missed-check-in checks continue if device monitoring stops. End the session to stop the timer.
- Recipients may open Safety sharing and Listen for accepted audible alerts; phone/browser volume, permissions, network and OS restrictions can prevent sound or notifications. Test my local alarm affects only your device. Use Acknowledge when you see an alert. These features do not guarantee rescue or notification delivery.
